What's it like learning to play the violin?

I started learning how to play violin when I was in the 3rd grade. Impressed by the quality of music Mozart and Beethoven produced, I decided that I wanted to learn to be able to play their music. Little did I know the amount of time it would take for me just to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It took me about two and a half years (with private lessons) for me to be able to play one of Beethoven’s symphonies (even then I was just playing second violin).

We’re writing this article since many of our students also want to learn to play the violin to be able to play songs by Mozart and Beethoven. What we’d like to inform those students is that you should definitely pursue violin, but be prepared to spend the first year to two years learning the basics before learning songs by Mozart and Beethoven.

For a beginner, our Mozart Violins Model 12 violin is a perfect starting place, since it is made with maple and spruce. Please feel free to call us at (323) 4-VIOLIN if any questions pop up.
